U.S.
motorcycle population, and nearly 12% of new Harley-Davidson purchasers
are women. The Garage Party events are one way that Harley-Davidson

HAYES LOOKING FOR FORMULA XTREME REPEAT IN UTAH |
 |
Josh Hayes has the distinction of being the rider to win the very first
AMA professional race at Miller Motorsports Park when the state-of-the-art
track opened last June. This Saturday, June 23, Hayes hopes to become the
track’s first repeat winner as he rides his Erion Honda CBR600RR in the
Lockhart Phillips USA Formula Xtreme Series presented by HMR.
Chances are good for Hayes, who is riding the crest of a four-race Formula
Xtreme winning streak coming into Tooele. He’s built a 25-point lead
over Attack Kawasaki’s Steve Rapp. If Hayes wins this weekend it would
mark the longest Formula Xtreme winning streak in seven years.

| AMA Rights - News & Notes |
The Denver, Colorado City Council passed a new law that
essentially requires all riders in the city to use only stock exhaust
systems on their motorcycles. It's a law that addresses sound issues by
unfairly targeting only motorcyclists, and the AMA is seeking a dialogue
with Denver city officials to try to find a solution.
On June 4, Denver officials approved changes to the
city's vehicle noise ordinance that allow police to issue tickets to
riders if their bikes don't have a federal Environmental Protection Agency
sound-certification label on the exhaust systems. The new ordinance, which
takes effect July 1, would apply to all motorcycles made since 1982, which
was the first year that federal law required motorcycles sold in the U.S.
to comply with EPA sound regulations.

Sunday Morning Coffee with Josh Grant |
|
Sobe Samsung Honda rider Josh Grant has been on the cusp of taking his
first AMA Motocross overall win for a while now; with it all coming
together at High Point Raceway two weekends ago. Pit
pundits often say that it's that first win that is the hardest, and once
that comes it all gets easier. Will this happen to the
soon-to-be 21 years old from
California
? I think so! Certainly he has the
speed, fitness, and equipment; and two weeks ago he had the right
combination. I caught up with Grant, who set the second
best Motocross Lites lap time on Saturday, to hear how he felt about that
first win.

quarter-mile surface.
Hines, 24, also works on the V-Rods, so he can appreciate the
time it takes in the shop just to make the bikes race ready and

BULLS
