Legendary Motorcycle Daredevil Evil Knievel Passes - A Monster Exclusive

Heralded for years as the “American Daredevil” motorcyclists 
Evil Knievel passed away in Clearwater Florida on Friday. 
Knievel was the first  to jump over everything from school buses, 
semi trucks, to the fountain at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas 
on a motorcycle.  Knievel was an true original.
 

 
Knievel made millions during the 70’s with his wild 
death defying motorcycle stunts that were routinely 
telecast around the world as viewers seemed mesmerized with 
his outrageous acts of courage or insanity depending on your point of view.
His boisterous banter helped make made him a great “pitch man” 
for everything from the Harley Davidson bikes he rode to the 
American flag draped action figures sold to children.

Rumors Abound as Vinnie Leaves OCC - A Commentary by The Monster
In mid August Vinnie Dimartino talented builder and fabricator for Orange County Choppers resigned his employment and position at OCC and on the popular TV show American Chopper. Amid questions and speculation, immediately after his departure, Dimartino remained low key and respectful of his previous employer. Soon after the split, he said he was pursuing other opportunities.

On the final episode for Vinnie that aired in October, the final scene with Paul Sr. and Vinnie seemed cool and strained to most viewers and rumors of discontent ran wild. Other comments during that episode from the Teutles about how everyone is replaceable also annoyed and flamed the fire for many “Vinnie” OCC fans.

Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Race Teams to Debut in 2008
 American Suzuki Motor Corp. (ASMC) announced today that Rockstar Energy Drink and Makita USA will share title sponsorship of Suzuki’s championship-winning factory-supported race efforts for AMA road racing, AMA Supercross and AMA Motocross.  This multi-year, multi-sponsor relationship kicks off with the season-opening round of AMA Supercross at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008.

BUELL ANNOUNCES 2008 RACING CONTINGENCY PROGRAM
EAST TROY, Wis. (November 29, 2007) –  Buell Motorcycle Company today announced an expanded racing support program for 2008, with more than $1.2 million posted in cash contingencies for Buell racers competing in a variety of national and regional race series events and classes aboard the all-new 1125R and the race winning XBRR and XB model motorcycles.

VANCIL WINS CHAMPIONSHIP; TONGLET, NORLIN AND DRAPP TAKE HOME 2007 AHDRA SCREAMIN' EAGLE CHAMPIONSHIPS

LAS VEGAS (Nov. 20, 2007) – The 2007 AHDRA Screamin' Eagle Championship titles were given out Sunday at the season finale event at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

 Doug Vancil won two events in four final round appearances to earn the Nitro Top Fuel championship. Vancil had a 33-point lead over Takeshi Shigematsu going into the season finale. Vancil beat Shigematsu in the second round, wrapping up the championship.

Six Finalists Posted For Online Voting in Harley-Davidson’s “Get Down to Daytona” Contest
MILWAUKEE (November 28, 2007) – Six inspiring finalists in Harley-Davidson’s Get Down to Daytona contest have been chosen and posted online today at www.harley-davidson.com/womensride for online viewer voting to begin. Visitors to the site can view each video and vote on their favorite to help send that woman rider and a guest to Daytona Bike Week ’08. Voting will end December 12, 2007, and three winners will be announced December 14.

AMA PRO SPEED ATHLETE OF THE YEAR NOMINEES ANNOUNCED
Five standout riders have been nominated to receive the prestigious AMA Pro Racing SPEED Athlete of the Year award which will be presented at the AMA Pro Racing Championship Awards Banquet this Sunday, Nov. 18. Dating back to 1976, the award is the highest honor bestowed to a professional motorcycle racer competing in AMA-sanctioned racing. Past recipients of the award include such legendary names as Bob Hannah, Scott Parker and Kenny Roberts, among others.

VANCIL AND ROMINE SET UP CHAMPIONSHIP SHOWDOWN FOR NITRO TOP FUEL AT SEASON FINALE

Doug Vancil beat Mike Romine in the final of the California Bike Week Nationals presented by Laidlaw's Harley-Davidson at Auto Club Raceway on Saturday. The win - at the 11th of 12 2007 national events - was especially important for Vancil.

Not only did it give Vancil his second win in four final rounds this season, but it also revenged a runner-up to Romine in Rockingham, N.C. in October. Even more importantly, it set up a season finale showdown for the Nitro crown at this weekend's season finale Rush Las Vegas Nationals, Nov. 15-18.

KRAWIEC SIGNS TWO-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH SCREAMIN' EAGLE/VANCE & HINES MOTORSPORTS

MILWAUKEE (Nov. 6, 2007) Ð Eddie Krawiec will continue to be part of the Screamin' Eagle/Vance & Hines Motorsports for the next two seasons Ð and the New Jersey resident couldn't be happier.

Krawiec joined the team in February Ð just in time for the March season opener in Gainesville, Fla. Krawiec earned a trip to the semifinals in that first race with the team. Krawiec went on to finish in seventh place in the 2007 NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Motorcycle standings, making two final round appearances this season.

AMA SUPERMOTO CHAMPIONSHIP FINALE WILL CROWN CHAMPIONS
Troy Lee’s Supermoto Mayhem at the Morongo roars into the Morongo Casino Resort and Spa in Cabazon, Calif., on Nov. 9-11.

This year’s event marks the first time the AMA Supermoto Championship has visited California’s Palm Springs desert area.

“We are very excited to promote the Supermoto Mayhem at the Morongo,” commented Troy Lee. “This year we have moved the race to Morongo and I am very happy with the response and how everything has gone so far. This event will cap off one of the most thrilling and exciting AMA Supermoto Championships in history. On Sunday we will be crowning three series champions. HINES COMES UP SHORT IN BID FOR RECORD-BREAKING FOURTH NHRA CHAMPIONSHIP

POMONA, Calif. (Nov. 5, 2007) – Screamin' Eagle/Vance & Hines Motorsports rider Andrew Hines came up short in his bid for a record-breaking fourth NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Motorcycle championship Sunday at the Auto Club NHRA Finals.

Hines lost in the second round at the Auto Club Raceway, opening the door for Matt Smith to win the race and the 2007 Pro Stock Motorcycle championship.

WRECKING CREW RIDERS READY FOR FIRST ANNUAL CALIFORNIA BIKE WEEK NATIONALS IN POMONA

MILWAUKEE (Nov. 5, 2007) -Screamin' Eagle Harley-Davidson Wrecking Crew riders Kenny Coolbeth, Jared Mees, Bryan Smith and Joe Kopp will all be at this weekend's California Bike Week Nationals at the Pomona (Calif.) Fairplex fairgrounds.

The Pacific Coast Nationals flat track racing series will make its debut on Saturday - something the Wrecking Crew riders are more than anxious about racing in one last event this year.

Jared Mees, rider of the Blue Springs Harley-Davidson, finished in second place this season. The final race was the Sept. 29 event in Tucson, Ariz.

PRODUCTION OF 1125R LAUNCHES NEW ERA OF BUELL SPORTBIKES

EAST TROY, Wis. (November 1, 2007) - The Buell Motorcycle Company celebrated a major milestone this week as it started up a new age of sportbikes with the production of the first Buell 1125R motorcycle at its factory in East Troy, Wis.

Turning a new corner into the superbike category, the all-new Buell 1125R delivers a true balance of street and track performance. Designed with a passion for the elements that have defined Buell motorcycles for 25 years, the 1125R offers power, handling and agility that will take riders to a new level of sportbike riding. The 1125R joins the XB and Blast as a third Buell motorcycle platform. The first 1125R motorcycles are expected to arrive at U.S. Buell dealers in November. The serial number one Buell 1125R will become part of Buell's history, saved for the Harley-Davidson Museum, which opens in 2008.

Sucker Punch Sally's Honors Army Combat Veteran with Custom Motorcycle at Biketoberfest 2007

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ –  Christian Clayton of Sucker Punch Sally's presented Army Combat Veteran Joe White with a custom motorcycle at The Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse on Main Street in Daytona Beach, Florida, Saturday, Oct 20th. The bike was the culmination of eight months of hard work by Joe's brother Johnny. Johnny wanted to honor his brother for his service to the U.S. with a motorcycle and had originally planned on restoring a Sportster. A number of events happened and Johnny, with the help of Bikernet.com, got the word out that he was looking to build a bike and Sucker Punch Sally's answered the call. They sent Johnny a pallet with a complete roller in addition to numerous other parts.
