Product Test: MSR NXT Gear
Not long ago we reviewed MSR's excellent new retro gear, the "Old Skool" line, which was fantastic.  Now comes the top-of-the-line MSR NXT.

For 2009 MSR has incorporated some new features, which in the pants include AVT (Advanced Venting Technology) - essentially "air scoops" around the knee panel.  This technology is designed to bring significant air into the knee and overall leg area.

With the 2008 Winter National Olympics (Mini O's) just over a week away on November 24-29, Pirelli tires has announced it will be on-site at Gatorback Cycle Park in Alachua, Fla. throughout the six-day event.

Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse Makes Last Stop for 2008 at Toys in the Sun Run

KRAWIEC RIDES HARLEY-DAVIDSON V-ROD TO NHRA CHAMPIONSHIP
POMONA, Calif. (Nov. 16, 2008) – Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines rider Ed Krawiec overcame a 20-point deficit to win the 2008 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle championship at the season-ending Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway. The championship is the fourth NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle title in five seasons for the Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson team.

Local Riders Featured at AMA Supermoto finale, Nov. 14-16
A number of local riders will be featured this weekend as Infineon Raceway will host the XTRM AMA Supermoto Championship, presented by Parts Unlimited.
 
Championships will be decided at the Infineon Raceway Kart Center in three professional categories (Supermoto Premier, Supermoto Lites and Supermoto Unlimited) on a track comprised of both pavement and dirt.

2009 GNCC National Numbers Announced
GNCC Numbers are earned based on overall finishes in one of the seven divisions of the series, including Youth, Amateur and Professional racing on both motorcycles and ATVs, and the new UTV Side-by-Side Series.

The 2008 GNCC Champions, David Knight (Bike, Red Bull KTM) and Bill Ballance (ATV, Team Yamaha) have earned the GNCC number-one plate in the Afternoon Main Event Bike and ATV divisions. Morning race riders begin their numbers with 201. Women's ATV Champion Traci Cecco (Team Yamaha) will wear number 201 in the ATV Morning Race; 200 C Champion Morgan Moss (Team Off-Camber Yamaha) earned number 201 from the Bike Morning Race. Stewart Baylor (Bike, RidePG.com KTM) and Josh Merritt (ATV, Cobra) earned the Youth Overall number one plates. William Yokley (National Guard Polaris) earned the first-ever number-one plate in the UTV Side-by-Side division.

Jeff Canfield Named AMA Toyota Motocross Series Director
MX Sports announced today the appointment of Jeff Canfield into the full-time position of AMA Toyota Motocross Series Director.
 
Canfield comes to MX Sports with a wealth of experience on the professional motocross level, having worked with AMA Pro Racing since January of 2000. Most recently, Canfield managed AMA Pro Racing's sanctioning and officiating activities for the AMA Monster Energy Supercross and AMA Toyota Motocross series'.

New Motorcycle Veteran Added To Mix For Spirit Of Daytona Racing During Test For Rolex 24

Spirit of Daytona Racing continued their two-wheel experiment as they prepare for the 47th anniversary Rolex 24 At Daytona on Jan. 24-25 at historic Daytona International Speedway.

The Daytona Beach-based team, which has previously tested their No. 09 Porsche Coyote Daytona Prototype at DIS with motorcycle stars Ricky Carmichael, Jason Pridmore and five-time Daytona 200 By Honda winner Scott Russell, added motorcycle veteran Jeff Ward to the mix on Tuesday during the first day of the two-day November Test Days session.

AMA Arenacross Notebook: Des Moines
With the official start of the 2009 AMA Arenacross Series just under two months away, one of the sport's most recognizable venues will serve as host to a preview race this weekend. Entering its 11th year on the AMA Arenacross tour, Des Moines is considered a staple of AMA Arenacross.

The prequel race on November 7-9 is a stand-alone, non-points paying race. With pride and prize money on the line, several of the top AMA Arenacross teams and riders will take part in the race and take advantage of track time and a racing environment prior to the kick off event in Grand Rapids, Mich. on January 2-4.

National OHV organizations hold land-use forum in conjunction with SEMA
PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- Leaders from the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) and other national organizations met in Las Vegas on Thursday, Nov. 6, to discuss a variety of land-use issues affecting off-highway vehicle (OHV) recreation. Michigan's Lindsey Scheltema Crowned Miss Arenacross 2009

After two-and-a-half months of voting and campaigning, the 2009 Miss Arenacross search has finally drawn to a close. Several hundred candidates have been narrowed down to 20-year old Lindsey Scheltema of Byron Center, Mich.

While the Des Moines race is a stand-alone race and not part of the 2009 AMA Arenacross Series, Scheltema will take part in the promotional and media opportunities throughout this coming weekend in Des Moines.
