J&P Open House Rocks Iowa

On Saturday, June 28th Anamosa, Iowa came alive and the center of the biker universe as J&P Cycles hosted their 29th annual Open House. With estimates hovering around 15,000 in attendance, the fine folks at J&P Cycles not only solidified their number one position in the aftermarket parts world for motorcycles of all kinds, they also put themselves near the top in the nation, in one day motorcycle events.

Host of the American Thunder TV show on Speed channel, Michelle Smith, told the Monster. " When I arrived in Anamosa, I said, where are all of the bikers coming from? How will they get thousands out here to these cornfields?  When I arrived on Sat morning, I said, wow, where did all of the bikers come from"? As Michelle compared notes with the Monster we all agreed that the crowd was "most impressive".

Motorcycle Monster Dan Derringer said, "I have never seen such a great group of biker folks in one spot. This event is one of the most impressive I have ever attended". the Monster went on, " these are truly loyal J&P customers that have done business with John and Jill for years and are excited about attending this event annually. It's a family reunion as well as an open house".
The huge crowd not only spent time with the J&P crew looking at all the latest in the aftermarket parts, they also spent time with the supplying company folks like Custom Chrome, Tucker Rocky, Kuryakyn, and more.

The J&P "down home attitude" starts at the top of the J&P organization, from John Parham and wife Jill all the way through the company. Everyone is real, concerned and caring when it comes to getting bikers the parts and accessories that they need. It seems that the J&P customers truly have found a friend in J&P, in the parts business and this friend is genuine and most helpful. John and Jill are available to customers as they spent much of the day greeting folks at the front door.

Another exciting part of the Open House weekend was a visit to the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa. This motorcycle museum has one of the most impressive groups of two wheelers anywhere with over 250 motorcycles from many different backgrounds. If you're looking for the last original Easy Rider bike from the 1969 movie with Peter Fonda or one of Steve McQueen's personal Indians this museum has it all. The Monster was particularly impressed with the large number of vintage Harleys that help the enthusiast piece together the history of Harley Davidson. Another impressive part of the collection is the collection from the late 60s and early 70s. Daredevil, Evil Knievil is even represented with one of his 750 Harleys that made him famous.

On Friday evening, John, Jill and most of the vendors on sight got together to raise some much needed funds for John and Jills favorite charity, Camp Courageous, with a golf outting and VIP reception.

As usual, John and Jill did more than the right thing by raising over $8,600 for the kids in Iowa with special needs.

Beautiful sun shiny weather gave Saturday a great start. Later, some strong winds threw a minor damper on the fun as tents and decorations tried to take flight. By in large the bikers took it all in stride and had a great time with the food, biker games and terrific entertainment.

Earlier mentioned Speed TV Star, Michelle Smith, did her usual stellar job in greeting and hugging thousands of bikers as they streamed in for hours looking for a photo and autograph. Michelle is the best at making folks feel comfortable and her enjoyment of the motorcycle lifestyle is apparent.
The Motorcycle Monster posed and frolicked with bikers taking photos and signing for the kids until everyone in Jones county had exactly what they had come for, some biker fun.

The Motorcycle Monster said, "John and Jill have built a wonderful business by doing what we all should aspire to, treating folks right". They have done it for nearly 30 years and it doesn't seem like they are planning on letting up.

With a recipe like this the J&P crowd is destined for bigger and better things as they continue to be the most trusted aftermarket motorcycle parts distributor in the world.
Thanks for the great attitude, service and terrific products, J&P!
Keep up the good work.
