4FR Toyota Trucks/GreenerAcres.org Helmet Safety Program
CULVER, Ind. (July 7, 2009) - The 4FR Toyota Trucks/GreenerAcres.org team made a special visit to Culver Elementary School recently to express the importance of safety gear for the coming summer activities. Students were shown the safety gear worn by motorcycle racers and how helmets and pads can make their summer more enjoyable by preventing injury.
The environment was another focal point
showing that we do not have to give up our
activities, just try to make the
environmentally friendly choice when there is
an option. The students were treated to a tour
of the team semi and received posters and
trading cards.
Scotty Van Hawk was on hand to answer
questions about safety gear and to show the
kids how cool safety can be. He also fielded
questions from a very interested group of
students about environmentally friendly
alternatives and how they can help make the
world a better place.
"We were amazed at the level of
awareness that the students have about the
environment," said Van Hawk.
"Helmets seem to be a given for most of
them when riding bikes and or skating, which
is a dramatic change from the first helmet
safety program that I gave over ten years ago.
The kids wanted to know more about how the
race team worked and how technology is applied
to our sport. It is refreshing to know that
there is a new generation of curious minds
coming that will help shape a better
world."
Four Feathers Racing would like to thank the
teachers of Culver Elementary for the
invitation and their hospitality.
