NEW HARLEY-DAVIDSON® MOTORCYCLES AND MORE AT 2009 STURGIS RALLY
2010 Motorcycle Demo Rides, Ride In Show, Women’s Activities and Racing in Rapid City

MILWAUKEE (July 15, 2009) – Motorcycle riders and enthusiasts from around the world will have the chance to ride the new 2010 Harley-Davidson motorcycles at the 69th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, August 1-7, 2009. While Rapid City, S.D., will be the center of Harley-Davidson activities, riders and enthusiasts will enjoy the historic attractions and scenic riding in the legendary Black Hills region.

The Harley-Davidson Road Tour (all activities free of charge) will run from Saturday, Aug. 1 through Friday, Aug. 7, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City. Experience the passion, excitement and sound of the Sturgis Rally at the Harley-Davidson Road Tour outdoors at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, which includes the following events:

Harley-Davidson New Product Displays featuring the newly released 2010 model line-up, Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories, and MotorClothes® merchandise.
2010 Harley-Davidson demo rides and MotorClothes gear demos (registration 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily)
H.O.G.® Members-only Pin Stop
Harley-Davidson custom motorcycle Ride In Show on Thursday, August 6 with $500 cash prizes
Special Women’s Day on August 2
“We look forward to the Sturgis Rally all year,” said Steve Piehl, Harley-Davidson Director, Consumer Events Marketing. “It’s the first time we get to show off our newest motorcycles, and our activities are a great showcase for everything Harley-Davidson does with and for our customers. And it’s all free! It’s also a great time to ride our motorcycles, hang out with other riders and enjoy one of the biggest rallies in the country.”

The Harley-Davidson Road Tour (Aug. 1 – 7 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) outside the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center will feature new 2010 Harley-Davidson motorcycles, Genuine Motor Accessories and MotorClothes merchandise, H.O.G. members-only pin stop, Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Bike Raffle, Free Bike Wash, Beer Garden with entertainment and more.

Some of the most creative and passionately customized bikes at the Sturgis Rally will be displayed at the Harley-Davidson Ride In Show, now being held on THURSDAY, Aug. 6. There is a modest $10 entry fee, all proceeds will be donated to MDA. “Best of Show” winners in each of the13 judging classes will receive a $500 cash prize. Two special awards of $500 will also be awarded to the top Sportster® and VRSC™ and Big Twin utilizing Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories.

Among the activities planned at the Harley-Davidson Road Tour is an interactive women’s area featuring giveaways, prizes and motorcycle information. The Motor Company will also host the third annual Women’s Day at the Civic Center on Sunday, August 2. Activities planned for Women’s Day include seminars focused on teaching women how to customize their motorcycle and how to pick up a fallen motorcycle.

Race fans will be able to check out the AMA Pro Flat Track Grand Nationals at the Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City on August 4. Tickets: $25/advanced; $30/at the gate. H.O.G. members receive a $2 discount per ticket when purchased at the Harley-Davidson Road Tour.
